Ditch the Tape: Dyzana's Armbands
Here's a pretty normal scenario for most rec or scenario players. You check all of your gear to make sure it works a day or two before the game. You get yourself all packed up. You get to the field, and put on the one of the sides----and then get a crappy, thin, knock-off duct tape handed to you before you make the trip onto the field. You slap it on a jersey you paid $60-$60, head out to play with for the day, and then get back nice and tired when you're done.
When you go to pull them off, they don't want to come off---or much worse, they have stained your jersey. I wish I was kidding, but there's one big field on the east coast that used tape that left a permanent red stain on each sleeve of a jersey that I used to have for my old team. And before you ask, that jersey was a dark blue and black---it wasn't exactly light and something that you might expect that from. Really not cool.
So why do I like the Dyzana armbands over, say, the ones that you get for events like Super game (and I do love me some SuperGame). There are a few reasons.
First off, they're built like tanks. They consist of a thick elastic, double-sided velcro with their logo on the ends, a small elastic loop, and one end has both their logo and a rubber insert. If you didn't know what the small loop is for (like me, who can sometimes be a bit of an idiot), the small loop goes around your arm and holds the armband in place so you can strap it down in place without looking like a complete goof or asking a teammate to help you. It's a nice touch and something that I like having on mine. The logo is also pretty subtle so you don't feel like you're really being a walking billboard. For me, I like them more than other brands because of that loop that helps me put the thing on, and the extra velcro strip at the end that faces outward. It allows for you to slap some patches on there, which I do for advertising both a team sponsors (shout out to the good people at Powerhouse!!) and for advertising for Fulda Gap (come out for WARSAW, where I am defending our title this year!!). You can slap what you want on there and still have your armbands where they should be. It's a nice, useful touch to those of us that use patches.

Dyzana is currently making them in Red. Blue, Green, Orange (for you refs out there) and are adding White and Yellow soon. Are they going to make you a better player? No. But they're worth picking up. if for nothing else than knowing that a couple armbands will cost you a whole lot less than a new jersey is going to run you. And for armbands, these are well thought out, durable, and about as nice as you're going to get. You can pick them up here.
